Hi, When using StatPlanet_CustomMap the first thing we have to do to create a custom region (in my case all neighbourhoods in a City) is Import your map (file -> import -> import to stage) What format should the map be in before it is imported to stage in Macromedia Flash? The reason I am asking is because we also have to give each region in the map a unique name or identifier when we convert each region to a movieclip. Is there a way to import the map to stage in a way where I can automatically give each neighbourhood a unique identifier without having to separate out each meighbourhood (180 neighbourhoods in this City)? If so, what format would this be, please? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank-you, Nat

Thank-you for the advice. I have several questions... I have used arcGIS to convert my map of regions into an AI document. Then I import to stage in Adobe Flash CS3. What are the steps I have to do to assign each idividual region (polygon) a unique ID? How do I actually do it, please? Also, would it be better for me to create a vector swf file instead? If so, which software can convert a shp (shapefile) to an swf, please?

The image format could be either Illustrator (.ai), FreeHand (.FH...), or Flash Player (.swf) (vector formats) . However as far as I know, there is no way of automatically assigning identifiers. What could speed things up a little bit perhaps is to create and run commands. This is explained here:

This might slightly speed up the process of creating symbols for each region, but you will still have to enter the instance name manually.

Also, would it be better for me to create a swf vector layer if specific polygons represent certain regions? What software will convert from a shp (shapefile) to a swf file, please?
