Hi,I realised that in some cases, the maps won't be colored, even though there is data for each country.(E.g. using the "current account balance" figures (USD) from the IMF 2000, 2001, 2002)After hours of doublechecking the data and "playing" around, i have the very strong suspicion, that the colouring (and the statistical calculations) won't work, when the mean is smaller than 0.What do you think??? Cheers, jensPS Great tool by the way!!!!! |
Hi Blandine, you can save
Hi Blandine, you can save the colors in the DataEditor file in the Excel sheet 'settings', but this option is only available if you download StatPlanet Mapmaker and insert your own data. You need to use the hex code of the color which is shown in StatPlanet when you select a color. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I changed the colours of the map (when you visualize the offline prgogram) and I would like to SAVE these changes. Is it possible?

Hi Jens, You are right,
Hi Jens,
You are right, there was a problem with mean less than zero (great detective work!). It is fixed in the latest version, which can be downloaded here:

Best wishes,

Hi Frank, the problem is not
Hi Frank,
the problem is not displaying negative numbers.
The problem is, if the mean of all numbers is negative. (Took me a while to figure THAT out :P)
I can send you a file.
Cheers,
Jens
Hi Jens, Thanks for pointing
Hi Jens,
Thanks for pointing that out. As far as I know, StatPlanet has no problems colouring negative values. Perhaps the problem is due to to a symbol/character in the cells which is not recognized as a number. You could try converting all the data in the Excel sheet into numbers and see if there are any problems. Otherwise you could send the data and I will have a look (my contact information is on the website - www.sacmeq.org/statplanet)
